Anthony Meier is pleased to announce our participation in the inaugural Art Basel Qatar, taking place in Doha, February 5–7. In partnership with Waddington Custot, we will feature a solo exhibition of historic works by Etel Adnan (1925–2021).
Curated by Egyptian artist Wael Shawky, Art Basel Qatar brings together solo gallery projects under the theme Becoming, exploring how humanity continues to evolve and how the structures around us shape the ways we live, believe, and understand the world. Etel Adnan’s radiant and intimate paintings have had a profound impact on modern and contemporary art across cultures and geographies. Our presentation brings together a focused selection of works that speak to the central concerns of Adnan’s practice: landscape, memory, displacement, and a deep spiritual relationship to place.
